Work legally in Thailand on a Non-B visa
For business owners and employees in Hua Hin: we plan the visa, the work permit and the company paperwork together, so each year’s renewal goes smoothly.
How the Non-B visa works
The Non-Immigrant B visa is the visa for working in Thailand. It lets you enter, apply for a work permit, and then extend your stay for a year at a time, as long as you keep working for the company that sponsors you.
- The visa: usually issued by a Thai embassy abroad with a letter from your Thai employer; in some cases it can be obtained inside Thailand
- The work permit: applied for once you have the Non-B visa, and tied to your job and employer
- The extension: a one-year extension at Hua Hin Immigration, renewed every year while you keep the job
What the company needs
Your employer has to meet requirements of its own. For each foreign employee, Immigration usually expects:
- Registered capital of 2 million baht (fully paid up)
- 4 Thai employees registered for social security
- A minimum monthly salary for you, which depends on your nationality
- Up-to-date tax returns, social security and audited accounts
BOI-promoted companies, marriage to a Thai national and some other cases have different requirements. We check what applies before you start.
Documents for the extension
- Passport, visa, work permit and TM.7 with a photo
- Company registration and shareholder list (certified recently)
- Company accounts, tax returns and social security filings
- Your personal income tax and salary records
- Photos and a map of the workplace
How we help
Because we also set up companies and do their accounting, we can keep the company, the visa and the work permit lined up. We prepare the employer and employee documents, file the work permit, prepare the yearly extension, and keep the monthly tax and social security filings that Immigration checks.

Common questions
If yours isn’t here, ask us. There is no charge for a first conversation.
Can I start working as soon as I have a Non-B visa?
No. The visa lets you apply for a work permit; you may only start work once the permit is issued. We make sure the steps happen in the right order.
Can I get a Non-B visa for my own company?
Yes, if the company meets the requirements and employs you. Most of our business clients do exactly this. We plan the capital, staff and paperwork with you from day one.
What happens if I change jobs?
Your work permit and extension are tied to your employer. A new job means a new work permit and new paperwork. Talk to us before you resign so you stay legal.
Do I need a Non-B visa for a short business trip?
Not always. Some short business visits, like meetings, may be possible on a visa exemption. Any actual work needs a Non-B visa and a work permit. Ask us if you are unsure.
