Practical help when it matters most
When someone passes away in Thailand, their family faces Thai paperwork at the worst possible moment. We take that weight off.
How we help
We work with the family, the hospital, the police where needed, the embassy and the funeral services to get everything done properly and as quickly as the process allows.
- Registering the death and obtaining the Thai death certificate
- Translations and certification for use abroad
- Liaising with the embassy or consulate
- Arranging repatriation, or a local cremation or burial
- Coordinating with insurers and family overseas
Afterwards
There is often an estate in Thailand to deal with: bank accounts, a car, a condo or a company. Our partner lawyers at Premier Legal Services can apply to the court for an executor and help settle the estate.
A Thai will and a clear record of your wishes make all of this far easier for the people you leave behind.
Tell us your situation and we will send you a clear plan with the full cost.
Common questions
If yours isn’t here, ask us. There is no charge for a first conversation.
Who should we call first?
Call us as soon as you can. We explain the immediate steps, which depend on where and how the death happened, and start the paperwork with you.
Can you help if the family is overseas?
Yes. Much of the process can be handled for the family with the right authorisations, and we keep you updated throughout.
What happens to property and bank accounts in Thailand?
Assets in Thailand usually need a Thai court to appoint an executor before they can be released. Premier Legal Services can handle the application.
